Zymes LLC Adds Greg Paddon-Jones, Ph.D. to its Team
Friday, February 1st, 2008Zymes is pleased to announce that Greg Paddon-Jones has joined its team to serve as the Director of Technology Development. Paddon-Jones will oversee Zymes’ supply chain and its chemical manufacturing. One of his primary responsibilities will be to look for innovative ways to use technology to enhance these processes.
Greg Paddon-Jones received his PhD in synthetic organic chemistry from The University of Queensland in Australia in 1998. He began his scientific career as a post-doctoral fellow at Zeneca Agrochemicals located at, Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland. He then relocated to France to complete a second post doctoral fellowship, focusing on surfactant properties and chemistry as part of a collaboration between Condea Chemie GmbH and the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique in Strasbourg.
Greg then transitioned to Lonza AG, a Swiss-based life science company and leading custom manufacturer of fine chemicals, intermediates, APIs and biopharmaceuticals. His primary assignments were in the field of applied research and development and optimization of chemical processes. He was then appointed to the position of plant manager in a cGMP production facility, where he oversaw some of the most important manufacturing projects of Lonza. In his subsequent assignment as process excellence expert he specialized in process optimization using the Lean and Six Sigma toolboxes to improve chemical, manufacturing and business processes. His work led to significant productivity increases and project streamlining.
In February 2008, Greg joined the Zymes team as a Director of Technology Development.
