Functionality

The Ubisol-Aqua™ technology enhances the functionality of drugs, nutrients, and cosmetic ingredients. It provides a wide range of delivery applications unavailable to water-insoluble compounds including liquid formulations such as intravenous preparations, topical preparations and beverages. The published research on Ubisol-Aqua™ demonstrates how enhanced solubility improves clinical effectiveness, bioavailability, and the ability to reformulate drugs to reduce toxicity and act as a pro-drug.

Zymes has successfully solubilized a range of insoluble compounds including: coenzyme Q₁₀, amphotericin B, nystatin, erythromycin, vitamin A acetate and vitamin A palmitate, vitamin B pentapalmitate, squalene, β-Carotene, astaxanthin, fish oil (EPA/DHA), flaxseed oil, rice bran oil, α-tocopherol (vitamin E), α-tocopherol (vitamin E), lutein, sterols, polyene macrolide antibiotics, asiatic acid, idebenone and essential oils.
